    Updating Drives ?

Sorry for this noob question guys but Im wondering how to update my drivers.

Where on the site do I go ? Is there specific driver ? Is there a download for all card ?
I came across a few downloads but still wasn't sure about it.

I run on Windows XP SP2.
I have a Ati RADEON X700 Graphics card and heard that if I had the latest drivers it would run SF better which is without a doubt. Also, how can I check what version I have or if it needs to be update. Also is this card good ?

    Thanks.

      Re: Updating Drivers ?

I don't think it is a noob question. I too have an ATI X700 (PRO 256MB) and I don't find installing updates to be easy. I've spent much time on the ATI site trying to figure out which driver to download. There is some kind of catalyst software which installs a program on your computer but I don't see a button in the program which says something like: 'check to see if your driver is up to date'. While I did indeed update the driver a few months ago it would be nice if someone can explain where I can find the driver version I have and how to check if it is up to date without downloading this non-user friendly program again.

Thanks fellas. It definetly not clear but now I seem to have found the driver.
You must goto Customer support section > drivers & software > Windows XP Drivers and Software > RADEON > Catalyst 5.11 Windows XP - Driver Download. There ya go. I do believe however the software should have an "update automatically" feature.

I remember Catalyst drivers being on the BF2 site once but I wasn't sure. Thanks Talus. Anyway my issue seems to have been resolved.
        Thanks again :)

Yeah I do recall downloading this version of the catalyst software a few months ago but do not know if drivers are updated automatically. Assuming not - how do I know when a new driver comes out?

Prolly just check the site every now and then until they get some sort of update feature. Driver updates aren't released THAT often so checking now and then should be fine.

Actually, ATI releases a new driver once every month (sometimes twice if they find that a hotfix is needed).
