Help me pick my settings for my specs.

    Hi,

I can't seem to find the correct settings for the graphics in bf2, I don't want them all on low & not powerful enough for all high so what ones are worth having & what settings low/medium/high. What should i put AA on? & what is the best driver for my specs & do i have to change any settings on the driver like when it says (High Performance) etc..

    2.80GHZ
    9700 pro
    1024 gbram
    2meg bb

    Much Thanks

    Well

I dont know what drivers you shuld be on but I had almost the same specs on my old comp and my setting were All All on low exept textures, and terrain. Those I put on Medium and it ran pretty good for what it was.

make sure the aperture size is on 256mb, and yes always keep up to date with drivers, sound and graphics

go into bios again and look for advanced chipset features, you should see the aperture size, set it to 256 and f10 to save and exit!!only do this if you have a gig of ram and a 256 meg card ok my friend.....

I looked under every single tab in the bios It's not there i'm using:

                    Phoenix-AwardBios Cmos Setup Utillities.

                    P.S i have a 128mb ati9700pro card, This mean i don't need to do this?

                    Thanks.

Im on a naff CPU as well, shadows, lighting and dynamic light effect speed more than anything else.!!!!

Hit dynamic lights off and shadows off, then try everything else at LOW bar Textures at med. DONT forget to tell you GFX card to try at least 4x or 8x AF, ignore AA as this hammers most PC's in BF2.

Cheers i will give that a try, How about the screen rate 1024xhz 800x600hz does this make a diffrence on graphics if so what screenrate should i use & at what ''hz''

I'm not one to spend loads on my pc for games this is why i just got the 9700 for £40 yet i hear people spend £400+ just for a g card!
