Where SF is installed / How to disable the Intro Movies Info

Some of you are wondering where Special Forces gets installed too.
Also:
Most of you have either renamed or removed the Intro movies and most of you will notice that when you goto remove the movies for Special Forces, they're not there !.

Special Forces is installed in Xpack.

To get there you must goto : Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\xpack.
Do not click Bf2 obviously in the mods folder.

Now to disable the intro movies. I merely copy them as a backup to another folder. You can rename as show in bf2 Lag box's tutorial.

I just copy them to another folder.
If you cant figure out which ones must be removed.
I removed the Ea, Dice and Movie Intro.

These are Legal.bik, Intro.bik and Ea.bik.
Copy these to another folder just incase.

Thats all.

Instead of renaming/moving the files etc, you can just add '+restart 1' to the shortcut and voila no more movies. :)

When i do this my game CTD after a while, maybe it dosnt like me taking away the movies. :cry:

Are there any negative consequences to removing these intro screens/movie? I read that in BF2 various servers won't take you, gameplay is affected and all kinds of sinister things...

if your refering to the little movie when it starts up, all you need to to is just press the ESc key and it take u right to login, menu, why do what to mess around with files for , that cause trouble for down the track so just press the esc key and you will be right m8.

no your doing it wrong guys, just change the extension onthe intro files from bik to bak, thats all you have to do, dont 4 get the xpack too, same as b4

There are no negative consquences and renaming the files are ok aswell, whichever suits your liking. Pressing Esc will not get rid of the Ea/Dice intro but it will get rid of the movie intro (The longest intro). I and many others don't like waiting and pressing esc whilst I could be logging in. Im not very patient and I just don't like their intros.

This is just for people who want to login straight away rather than waiting. This procedure has no negative affects but do back them up just in case.
