About the actual events with the login conection probs, it shows that THEY control you.
What the hell, you buy a game (which is not cheap, plus the addon) and you cant even play single player because everything lags the hell out of it even at the menus.
Then no official word about the stupid problem.

EA/DICE/GameSpy whoever should be blamed ?

I dont understand why the **** they want to control everything.
Why do you need to login to play alone ? (stupid system)
Cant even practise with the damn planes/choppers.

Im so mad, friday/saturday night are the only days of the week i can play with my friends.
I mean, you plan to stay at home during a cold winter night to have some fun and then this.

I have bought games from EA that they simply abandoned after the first patch, and now that they shut down the official site, I cant even re-download a critical patch to play the game.

Stop being so pessimistic because it still works, you just need to be more patient. It can take anywhere from 3-7 minutes so click log in and take a nap or something. Remeber not to click bfhq unless you wish to wait more.

God, how come ?
I read one of the post from the EA about BF2, they say they are glad ppl still playing BF2........WTF ?.......BF2 came out few time ago.
Dont tell me they already plan to abandon it ?

I think its not only an EA thing, maybe the publishers now only want the game to seel for a few months and then **** it ?

BF2 isnt really that popular.. there are more servers for other games
that have been out for years..

BF2 is quite possibly the BEST and WORST game ever, all in one.
It had potential, but EA made sure it sucked in the end. Whoever
said above that its stupid to have to login, youre right. Its just so
sad how EA wants to control you to this extent. And their control
methods are so pathetic, and lousy..

Had EA/DICE found it necessary to actually support a game title,
rather than try to CONTROL a game title, things would be much better.
Bugs that were present before the DEMO was released are still in the
game today.. thats just sad.. And their account servers must be ran
off of commodore 64's or something because not only today but every
day they are slow and unresponsive.


Never have I seen worse support for a title, and Ive played them all.

does anyone have any private emails to EA execs ? The one I had
was changed, what a laugh... a major company scared enough to change
his email..

hmm well i havnt played since about 5:00am. . . but after running all the fixes listed on this page I havnt had a login that took more than 2 minutes.

It's not "wanting to control you," but rather "forgetting to program it so that you can play without getting you ready to have your stats read/written to". Although, you can still create a secondary offline account and play singleplayer.

Even the mini-mini-mini-mod I have on my computer just for screwing around with BF2 code, I have to log in through EA to try something, wtf is up with that? Download a mod? HEY! EA makes you log in for that too. Single player? NOPE! They want you to log in... There's a little more than meets the eye I say, considering even non-ranked servers force your stats to be loaded and everything.

During QuakeCon 2005 they had internet access.

Well because of this everyone was able to play Battlefield 2 via lan since they could login.

How in the hell are you supposed to login at a lanparty that doesn't offer internet access on-site?

Is there some kind of special offline mode??!!?!

The menu system for Battlefield 2 is totally flawed. Besides the fact that the in-game browser is a steaming pile of sh*t, there isn't even an auto-login feature. At the Account selection screen it lets you check a box to remember password. Why isn't there another "box" that says auto-login?!

You can auto login to BF2 but you are forced to put a special command line at the end of your shortcut for it to work.

Its pathetic to see a game developer be so lazy in coding.....

BF2 can be a really fun game but the little sh*t adds up to become a real annoyance. FIX THESE PROBLEMS FIRST and stop releasing half-assed expansions you greedy bastards.

Many people are turning back to consoles. As well as that, with piracy running at its present high there are probably more players than you might expect.

It saddens me to learn that this game is not so popular, I like it, and so do... 140k+ other people? This may yet be a failed game, we may yet move on to other things. But then again, thats expected, and I'm enjoying this now.

That's what truly matters. That I enjoy this game; hell, I still play UT99 lan for fun sometimes.

With that being said, my brother plays WoW, and a lot of them are your cliche whiney little maggot that you'd expect to find on CS. Just be glad they arent on your servers, tking you because you made fun of his elf erotica collection.
