im curious as to what other game companies out there you know that give better support...
yes thats no excuse but fact is i personally can think of VERY few companies that give better support then EA (blizzard comes to mind) and you know what they say if you dont like the company stop buying their products...
If you buy a faulty product in any other industry you don't accept it. How come it is in software they can get away with what they like, why release a game that is not ready for release? They should not be able to release it until its ready(i.e. No patches). I want some compensation for the time I've had to take downloading patches, will I get it I think not. All game companies seem to be going this way, please make sure a game is ready before it is released!!!!!! For example if I had braodband which had a limit eg 1gb download limit, the last patch would have used up 1/4 of my broadband limit for that month. Can I charge this to EA? I've brought a cr*p product and want some of my money back. BF2 is a great game but the way its marketed is so wrong, Money,Money,Money. Thats the only thing EA want, I know they are a big company but they should look after their customers better. To me it seems the bigger the company is the worse the customer service you recieve. Anyone else agree????

ok lets just deal with this.
do you realise what you are asking? the amount of work and effort needed to make a game playable with NO patches on a PC is IMPOSSIBLE to do. the almost infinite number of combinations for PC's in itself should tell you its impossible to have a game that works off the bat for everyone. not to mention you would need to test for all those configurations.
now what about game balance. gamers are crafty cunning exploitative goits who will take a product, find out how a product is supposed to be used and then find a way to use it to their maximum potential by bending the system (and sometimes breaking) as much as possible to their advantage. the chance of you making a game that will be fair to everyone and have no potential exploits again is impossible.
i cannot think of ANY game that has even tried your suggestion... the last game i remember that took longer then it should trying to incorparate everything was daikatana....
Happy to comply, all you have to do is pay for my airline ticket from UK to the States and thats all. For just this you get me to come and help you protest against EA as well as a huge custom made sign to aid you in the process! Remember this is a bargain and you get a genuine protestor!
