How much difference does lowering dynamic shadows and lightning make for you?

I hear lowering those should have a quite big impact on FPS but actually it doesn't make a difference for me. I tested changing both from med to low on a single player Strike at Karkand map, taking the same route with each test. Even a whole squad of bots went for the Hotel flag and I had the chance to check my fps in both cases, when they were bringing the flag down. The fps didn't differ (maybe 1-2 fps and I can't say if it was better with med or low). Why don't I get a change?

setting lighting to low as opposed to medium makes a big difference visually in the game. You lose all inside lighting detail for one. I'd think that would make a noticeable difference in framerate. You should be able to easily tell the difference visually, so if you can't then maybe the game didn't do it's optimizing shaders, etc... properly? Try a different map than karkand, like maybe sharqi...and go down to the bombed out building flag area. Lot's of different lighting there.

make sure you delete your bf2 cache in my documents every time you change settings, as ive changed mine from low to high and it didnt make a difference untill i did that. if you turn dynamic shadows off, you should notice a very large increase in framerates. hope this helps.

Sorry, I wasn't precise - I changed dynamic shadows and dynamic lightning. I didn't change the lightning itself.
