Very slow to login here. Has been slow all afternoon here in UK.
Pings very high, even into my own UK clan server.
It does seem to be an EA account server problem.

I'm having the same problem here as well, this issue has been going on for over nine hours now. This really stinks, EA should have been on top of this.

LOL! i rebooted my comp 3 times!!!!!!! trying to get it to work. It worked after about 15min of waiting on the 3rd time then crashed 20mins into play so i gave up. PLZ DO SOMMIT EA/GAMESPY PWEEEEEEEEESE!

just done a windows re-build today andthis eve re-installed BF....:laugh:

its taken me 2 blooooddddyyy hpours to try and figure out what was wrong with me install, then come here to find its them and not me....

Yep its down alright.

My Medal Progress Code is able to extract
partial stats but the Account Server times out
on even the simplest of queries.

For the time being it is a no go. Until this gets
fixed there are only cached stats at
www.ultimategroover.com, and new users wont
get anything as we don't have their data yet.

Glad to hear its working ...I tried this fix (http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showt...hp?t=44375)and it worked for me ..incase it happens again.

If you are having problems with weapons unlock, you need to make sure that:
-you play on BF2 ranked servers, there is a little rank sign just before the server name that tells you it's ranked.
-wait a couple of minutes to get your score updated from BFHQ
-most of the time, it will say while you are playing on a ranked server that you just gain a new rank, but then, you have to wait that BFHQ updates your sats to update your rank, then, it may take from 2 to 20 minutes, when you will log in again, a window will appear annoucing your new rank, and starting from 1000 points, lance corporal, ask you to unlock a weapon.
