    Poll to remove arty from SF

    I like Arty alot in BF2 vanilla, but I'm really getting annoyed by it in SF. It seems to me that part of the point of SF is that it's not all laden with carpet bombers, jets, and only a limited supply of other air. Arty seems to really intrude on the feel of the game for me, how about for you?(Poll modified for another option)

    There is another thread on this, but I wanted to see some stats on it, and maybe if there's alot who want it changed, we can sticky this for the EA devs who stop by.

    Arty doesn't bother me.

    But that full map scan should be removed instead. If that would be done, arty would kinda loose some of it's power. ATM with fm scan arty is bigboys sniping rifle.

    UAV scan is ok though.

      I think the arty should be removed. I think it's called "special operations" and an all out warfare.

      Other thing that bothers me is the commander's whole map scan. What's the point of having a lot of trouble sneaking to a flag, when the commander can just scan the whole damn map and hit you with artillery.

            neither of those options. Give servers to option to turn it on and off, and then everyone will be happy :)

              THE BEST THING I'VE EVER HEARD!

              This would include infantry only, no arty/commander , no kind of certain weapons/vehicles, etc...
              Not all players like everything in the game. Also wtf they didn't even toggle crouch!
              Not to have an opition for this is silly!!!

              So now the modders have to work their asses off. To do what EA/Dice should have done in a patch or release. UGH!

                Arty keeps people honest. I get peeved at it once in a while...but I just go Spec Ops and take it out.

                Its all part of the game. I for one wouldn't change a thing!

                  Remove it.
                  - It often ruins good fights
                  -Commanders just put it everywhere without caring about their teammates
                  -Spec Ops using arty, that makes no sense
                  -If it gets destroyed, the commander an repiar it in less than 20 seconds with a supply crate anyway
                  -There's nothing you can do against it

                      If artillery bothers you so much, then blow it up.

                        Yeah then the commander just drops a supply crate on it and its back up again.

                            Re: Poll to remove arty from SF

                            Make it so it (and other command assets) doesn't get repaired when you drop crates on them. Sure you can destroy the arty as spec ops, but it just gets repaired within a minute or two, you and your team goes back to getting hammered. Why bother? If I can sneak my way across the entire freakin' map and blow up arty, someone on the other team can take the time to respawn as an engineer and walk 30 feet to repair it. I just can figure out why EA hasn't fixed this aspect of the game yet. It does nothing positive for gameplay.

                            If there are any EA developers reading this thread, here's some help for you:

                            void repairObject(Object object) {
                            if (object.isCommandAsset()) {
                            return;
                            else {
                            object.repair();
                            }
                            }

                            Just cut, paste, and run your patch generator.

                              Exactly my thoughts too, If your good enough it won't be a problem.
