Thanks for the guide. Wierd thing is, when I rename Bf2.exe to Bf21.exe there is no sound in brf of bf2:SF????

You might like to add to your site ben, that SF won't install properly if you keep Bf21.exe or whatever you chose to name it too. It must be changed to Bf2.exe.

It can be changed afterwards. That is all.

The no-sound problem seemed to rectify itself. Thanks for the fix folks.
Special Forces is playable for me now on some maps, whereas before it was "total destruction".

Thanks for all the support guys! I just tried to optimize my system a few weeks ago, and I had to run between 3-4 different sites just to get it all done, so I figured I would put all my tips into one place.

If anyone else has any other optimization tips, feel free to post them here, and I'll add them to the guide and give you credit.

Changing pb_sleep from 20 seconds to 500 seconds will only delay punkbuster in it's hard drive checks, which may help some users. The impact either way depends on how sensitive your system is to disk access while gaming. It will still check the same number of files after a 500 second pause, as it would if it did it in smaller amounts every 20 seconds. Punkbuster "sucking" doesn't really enter into it.:laugh:

reanming file extensino to .bat gave me very patchy teamspeak communication whil ein agme. just to let anyone who has done this know. ive gone back to .exe and no probs now
