Alright, so I have tried all the normal anwsers of updating my drivers and all the other good stuff. But for whatever reason I cannot seem to get SF to run smoothly on my computer. This pretty well has me to the point of wanting to go FPS Doug and smash something.

Sooo if you could make heads or tails of that you know that my computer isnt UBER but its not bad...

I guess Im looking for that one thing that I havent though of, I got up to date drivers and so forth. When I run my *renderer.drawfps 1* in SF I get 15.0/66.7 While in BF2 i get 40.7/20.? give or take.

I need to know what the hell I can do. Im getting terrible preformance out of this game and its driving me nutz. I love it, but no matter what server I seem to play on it the same crappy issues. Weather im chosing a server that I ping 18 off of or if its 112 I still get crap. And BF2 runs fine.

SF is really odd. It uses a little more RAM almost 2GB.

Narynan i have basically the same spec as you, P4 3,2. 850 XT PE, 1.5 gig and im getting same performance as your self. Hopfully next patch will fix this ?

I have also tried every living thing lately...nothing works.

I think we are stuck waiting for a 'performance optimizing' patch. Which will probably take many months.

i guess its a major bug in the program, or DICE has raised the system spec for good gameplay

Thanks for the responses guys its good to see that I'm not the only one who is getting less than perfect gameplay. I have seen the differance when the game is playing smoothly, yes it does not run like crappo ALL the time, let me give the condensed version of what I am running.

p4 3.2G /w HT
2GB 2700 corsair DDR

So like I said earlier, I dont think it's a hardware issue as I have a pretty good setup. Again, thanks for your help guys, if anyone has any suggestions in the lines of ini file alterations or anything, please post.

Seagate Barracuda 8mbcache 120gb

I am getting the same problems as you (the 15/66 fps bull#%$&) Even my regular BF2 maps have been hit by 20-30 fps dropping me into the low 20's for the most part.

Dont get me started on the SF maps like Warlord and Iron Gator, playing with 15fps has gotten me fragged so many times now I have taken to the commander role. Even THEN, I have dropped to 10fps on that screen I am fed up.

I have uninstalled manually and I am in the process of a reinstall/defrag. The only thing I can think of is I had fast writes enabled in my bios, I turned that off (heard somewhere it may help), I also have my agp aperature at 256mb. I will let you know how it turns out later.

I have no problems and my computer is just a p4 (nilla) 2.8ghz, 2gb ram, nvidia 6600gt 128mb. Maybe it's something with the X800 cards? I'd go and check some ATI forums too if you haven't already.

must be, because I still am dropping to 20fps on SF maps. I hope they fix this soon, but I am dropping to low settings, because online is unplayable at 20fps.

Makes me wonder why beautiful games like COD2 and Half Life 2 run at 60+ fps on my PC though....

Everything was fine before that damned patch came out...I cant even play regular BF2 without a significant hit.

Yeah Rock, This is my favourite online game but.. SF being nearly unplayable was one thing .. I could live with that. What I cannot handle is that the patch fecked up my original BF2. Thats really ****ty. Now when I move my mouse left or right quickly, I get a choppy effect. Ruining the game for me.

Yeah, this is something that needs to be addressed either on the EA side or the ATI side. I did however find something that seems to have helped somewhat. I went into my

Documents and Settings\*User Name*\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache and deleted the profile settings. Dont get me wrong, this has required me to set everything back up, but it has helped me with my preformance, im getting upwards of 40+ frames a second. This might only be a temp solution or a one time anomoly. I dont know, but I'll keep you up to date on how things are going.

Bs it is not that they raised performance I am reading threads with people who have really nice computers that would max ANY game and they are getting ****ty performance it is the game not your comp. Just wait for them to fix it.

HL2 has better graphics than BF2, y does it have a lower spec???, i think its BF2's engine
