I believe http://www.filefront.com offers free hosting however people who download your file from there often have large wait periods of up to 20 minutes so I don t really recommend it but it's always an option.

You chose putfile, 2% of the members of this forum will be happy. The rest of us, will hate your guts.

First of all, Putfile is unbelievably buggy with FireFox, and doesn't buffer correctly. You have to either open it in IE (which is a huge security risk), or grab the direct URL to the video, and then open it in a video player (like WMP).

Not only do we have to do this for each and every putfile video, but let's say we do. Once you put in the URL, it will connect to the site, and start buffering your video. On most sites, a 10mb streaming video should take around 30 seconds to buffer, on the average broadband connection. On putfile, a 5mb file will take upwards of 3 minutes.

FileFront, PicAPic, GigaShare, RapidShare, FileCloud (if under 25mb). If you host it on more than one place, and let your viewers pick a location, there shouldn't be too much of a problem with long lines.

^ and with picapic, you can actually DL the file if it is taking too long to buffer..
Not to mention it has an upload progress bar so you can see how much is left to upload

The way i do it is i have one solid source (filefront) and one streaming source (picapic).. that way users could choose

Never had a problem watching videos on putfile with Firefox. Double-click the movie, and it even plays it fullscreen. Who cares how long it takes to load if you use a tabbed browser?:laugh:
