Assault rifle or Carbine?

Yow guys n girls,

Just a small question, does anyone know what weapons EA classifies as carbines and what as assault rifles? I searched the forum but couldn't find it
Help would be appriciated :)

Assault + Medic rifles = Assault Rifles
Spec Ops rifles = Carbines
Wargimp = Team Kills

There is just one thing I don't understand, since on http://world.guns.ru/assault/as70-e.htm they say the scar is an assault rifle but the specops has it in the expansion. And what about the brittish specops gun? Also a carbine? Because it looks like an assault rifle.

Well, there's a SCAR-L (5.56mm) and a SCAR-H (7.62mm). Although I suppose the SCAR-L is technically an assault rifle, I think it's a safe bet to assume its kills fall under the 'carbine' category. The SCAR-H probably counts towards AR kills.

The G36K is a carbine; that's what the 'K' signifies (keeping in mind it's a German rifle).

40 to 64 players maps - assault rifle
10 to 32 - carbine

Like to have the precision, hence the carbine, on small maps where people dont come from everywhere. On bigger maps I feel I need the assault rifle to 'clear out' places.

Well for me it's just the weapon, not the kit. I just love the medic G36E, it's great at longe range altough its an assault weapon. On close combat maps I prefere the F2000 since it has a scope that works pretty damn well and is pretty stronge. The G3 is stronger but it doesn't have a nade launcher and a nade launcher is pretty damn usefull.

i have unlocked the assault weapon in the bf2/sf and am using it in bf2, wot a top weapon, nade launcher+flashbangs in the kit!!! slaughter time fellas.....
