i just bought a new 512 ddr ram card and i dont really kno what to do with it, i kno where to put it in but after that do i have to do something?

Yeah thats all you have to do. Just check in control panel>sytem and it should say how much ram there is in your computer.

i did that and my pc kept on shuting off after 3 min it was on

take out the ram and put it back in, check it's in properly, check its the right ram for your computer etc. Have you got 2*512 or have you got different sizes eg 512 and 256. That normally causes problems I suggest 2*512. Let me know.

its a DDR 512 Mo Pc 3200 400 mhz and it still does it when i tke out the other ram
