Trying to understand your logic I think you mean the Insurgency mod for HL2. And it's not BF2 even though it's about modern combat.

There are 10x more hacks being written for the source engine than BF2...

Go play CSS once... you'll be glad bf2 is on a different engine.

if a "BF2" runs on the HL2 engine, then it's not a "BF2", it's a HL2 BF2 mod.

It's not a BF2 mod for the Source engine. I believe they have been in developement before BF2 was released.
