Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
i try to burn it to dvd and it says.........."unable to" blah blah, something or another. Im assuming its a copy thing. But i bought it, online, and now want to burn it for a hard copy. Cant believe I cant do this.
everyone afraid of warez? Dont be. I bought my copy online. Same as im sure, a few hundred people here. THe problem is i want a hard copy. You know, hard drive fries up, lost info, blah blah.......I dont get why i cant put this thing on a disk...
30 bucks and i cant copy it. Kinda like, upsets me.
Would be easier to suggest something if you stated a better discription of the error message than "blah, blah, blah".
What software are you using?
What is the exact error message?
Have you tried anything else?
Have you checked the readme about backups and duplication?
Have you tried buring the installed directory directly to disk?
I suspect that if it's got some heavy anti-burn built in that there's a recovery policy. If you lose your DLed copy, you should be able to re-DL it.
Gotta love how some yanks love to crap all over every other nation, then are completely mystified when the world tells them to shove it.
Waving ignorance like a flag does NOT make you cool.
That said, yeah, compressing the files isn't a bad idea.
Except that it would make the files a little hard to work with. It means you'd end up having to copy that entire file to virtual RAM a couple time in order to unpack it again.
On the otherhand, it's been my experiance that for every anti-copy system made, there's a application that will ignore it. Nero will ignore some, EZ-DVD will ignore others. Alchohol ignores almost everything.
Thus, the questions.
I burned my copy i d/l from EA right after i got it.
I put it on DVD so dont ask me how to do it with a CD
Go into your EA downloader program folder
then the folder its in path is cache/(whatever your user name is)/eagamesbf2-2006online_contentbf2-ep1
Thats where all the game setup files are located. From there burn the entire folder to the DVD and name the DVD BF2SF. Once thats done and written everytime you pop the dvd into your drive it auto plays like its the DVD youd get from the store.
I can find it on torrents, but i don't know my BF2SF Cd-key. I bought it through the downloader and i never got a key.
Was i supposed to, did i miss something?
Or where is it stored in the registry, then i can find it. Download a copy of it and never have to worry about that damn EA downloader crap.
Basically, anyone know where/how i can find my SF cd-key? Even though i use an image to run the game (BF2) i want a cd/dvd copy to install from. So i don't have to download it again. I deleted it, don't need 2gb sitting on my drive that won't be used again for many months at least.

you wont get a key for it.And if you DL it from the EA downloader you can login and dl it when ever you want.As far as you key goes..Click start, run, type REGEDIT,go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,click SOFTWARE,then find ELECTRONIC ARTS.Youll see special forces along with BF2..then open the ergc folder and theres your key.

So, if I export that key to a .reg file, can I double click it when I place the downloaded files back? Because I just purchased thourgh download, and it takes about 3 hours to download, not going to do that every time I reinstall my games.
I think EA can better send the complete install file through the installer and email us the key, I mean, the purchase is the same price as the retail ... I'm already sorry I did the download, I was better off with the boxed version

*** POST UPDATED LOOK BELOW ***
The one in registry will most likely be encrypted an only usable in the current Windows Account, if make a new one or reinstall Windows it will be invalid for use there.
Here's how you find your BF2:SF Cd-key.
If you have the EA Downloadable version of BF2:SF then your BF2:SF CD-key is listed at the entry regkey = in the file: eagamesbf2-2006online_contentbf2-ep1.eam in the EA Downloader folder:
and can probably be burned to DVD as mentioned above in thread, and you most likely won't need the EA downloader. I haven't had a chance to try it myself.
*** UPDATE ***
Just tried burning the DVD folder and it worked fine, if you start the install from setup.exe and don't use the autorun menu.
There's no need in getting the cd-key from the .eam file if you use the DVD folder from EA downloader to as a source for your BF2:SF DVD. It will automatically use the same as if launched from EA Downloader. So this is not a DVD you would have other use to install with or they will have your cd-key.
You will need to key won't you though if you format/re-install windows. Obviously the downloader folder won't exist anymore.
Have you actually installed SF successfully doing it this way as I want to format and don't want to have to download it again
I tried uninstalling BF2, BF2:SF and EA Downloader and made sure that the registry entries for the game was gone, and then tried installing with the burned EA Downloader folder, and it work fine, as long as you use the setup.exe, and not the autorun menu. Look above for details.
If you use the DVD folder created by EA Downloader and burn that folder to a DVD the cd-key will automatically be entered for you, and thus saved. If need be, the key can be found in a .eam file and saved before you format.
