  • Single player 'lag/stutter' problems after 1.02 update

    Hi,

Yet again, i'm having problems playing a PC game called Battlefield 2, these started after updating to version 1.3

Right, after having problems with my connection i've finally sorted it out only to find that i'm getting a constant 'lag' jump? every 30 seconds! I discovered this while playing in single player mode, i've got a well specced up PC and don't have any problems in terms of graphics. When I upgraded the system it ran flawlessly on maximum graphics, everything!

Now i'm getting a 'stutter' similar to lag every 30 seconds, this lasts a second of two (in which time I usually crash or die ) I can only attribute this to external programs. Listed below is a list of the programs running normally, i.e. if the system were idle with only the programs that would be loaded on startup.

If anyone can help advise what shouldn't be running and also how to go about stopping them from loading on startup, i'd be very grateful!

    Please help,

    Rich

Re: Single player 'lag/stutter' problems after 1.02 update

If you're comfortable editing your registry, do the following.

Start->Run->'regedit', hit enter and the Windows Registry Editor will come up.
Click on 'File' then 'export' and save your registry to the location of your choosing.

    Browse to the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

And delete any entries there that you do not want running while BF2 is running.

You can check here as well:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run

    Then go here:
Editor's Note: This information was originally created and belongs to Black Viper We had reproduced it, in large part until the original website returned. As of 3/2007. It did. So go visit Black Vip...

And disable any services you do not want running.
