What to do?

Well, ive bought Bf2:sf i really like the maps etc. but some maps gives hudge frame lag. Like iron gator....i cant hardly play on the ship. At the landspawn ive no problem at all. Also the damn house in warlord gives me lots of frame lag.

I havent played the nightmaps but i saw that when i press the nightvision toggle i can hardly shoot someone cause of the framelag.

What can i do about it. All my settings are low. oonly textures is med.

I got:
1024 DDR PC400 (ram)
Asus geforce fx5200 agp 128 mb
and a PENTIUM IV 2800 E 1 mb 533fsb box

what is the problem??

New video card. the 5200 are starting to struggle through newer games.
More RAM wouldnt hurt either.

I dont know enough of how that processor works to offer any recomendations.

Most likely its your video card. Go to pricewatch.com or newegg.com and shop for a better one.

Depends on what price range. I personally have a eVGA 6800gt. Works like a dream with All setting on High. So if you have about $320 or so to spend then get that card. However, the 6600 cards will run BF:2 on medium settings and it is about $200 so its up to you. Your gonna get alot of different answers here. You might want to research on your own on this one.

I would upgrade video card before adding more ram - more of an effect.

I bought the 6800 - not the GT - BUY THE GT! lol

I have to run all low in order not to lag and I have 2 G of Ram with a 2.6ghz processor. Buddy of mine that bought a gt has 1g of ram and same processor and is able to run on high with no problem.

well more ram will alow you to crank up your g-card- and a 6800gt will run all settings on high 4xaa like no problem, well with 2 gigs it will, not sure about less.

I'd say buy a new Videocard and add some RAM, hard to say though because we don't know on what kind of a budget you are....

I could play bf2vanilla all settings ultra 6xaa , sf just lags on certain maps like iron and warlord also a few times during night maps , its the game very fun but obviously very rushed. That card you have there will def. need to be upgraded but dont expect much form SF until the laggy maps are fixed. (hopefully)

with me sometimes doesn't mather wich map, the fps goes great, then for some reason it starts to drop and never comes back
