But the point is...I was hoping that we'd get a USMC -v- Insurgent map included with the SF pack. I wont lie, I love Karkand (as my stats show) and furthermore, would love to have a somewhat realistic battle.
Yea realistic, because your n00btubing is just like real life

You're one of the people that makes Karkand suck, to scared to get close to the fight and ****ed off because tanks and APCs are too much competition for your tube.

Actually, I don't see why it'd matter whether you're facing MEC or insurgents, since nearly all of your time is played as USMC anyway. *scratches head*

And to be honest I don't see the fascination with Karkand. Sure, it's a good map, but so are most of the other ones IMO. Since the EA servers have been running 24/7 Karkand for about a week and a half now I've been playing a lot of Karkand and quite frankly I'm tired of it. Down and dirty infantry fights are fun and all, but the vehicles in BF2 are so fun to play around with that to take them out entirely would be a travesty IMO. Kubra and Songhua are a couple of my favourite maps because of the big APC and tank battles you can get going on.

And in his defense, there's nothing wrong with using the n00b t00b for the most part because it gives Assault a good edge. I use it a lot myself. I guess, though, if that's all you use and you use it in rather...eh...unscrupulous fashion such as bunnyhop-launch-at-your-feet style then yeah, that's probably not too good.

Yeah I love how people talk about realism in a game that you get magically healed by health packs thrown on the ground????? You magically get all your ammo restocked by ammo packs thrown on the ground????? And finally since when has a defibrillator every saved someone from a GUNSHOT wound???????

Also this game is a BATTLEFIELD....it is not counter-strike...vehicles are part of the game.... If there was to be an infantry only version of Karkand it would have to be a 16 player version, since it would take forever to walk the whole thing.....That being said most of these maps are just too BIG to not have vehicles...If you dont want vehicles than dont play a game with them....

The only way I could think of improving Kirkland would be making the buildings more accessable (even more interiors and roof access)... Of coruse this could make it hellish for the US side at first...

It is one of those maps where the balance is just perfect without having a mirror image map...

As I said before I could think of improvements for just about avery single other map before I would change this one. Don't get me wrong I play all the maps on either side, I don't particularly care as it is all good...

My personal least favourite maps are Songhua Stalemate and Clean Sweep...

I play with a squad that uses designated classes per player. I just happened to get Grenadier because no one else wanted it. The m203 is a great weapon, and has been a staple for US infantry squads since the 1980's.

I think that it has been reflected well in BF2, of course..not as good as OFP, but we wont get into that here :-)

And to the people telling me to 'go back to CS'. I've never played CS and never will. Sorry to burst your bubbles.

Well its unexplainable. To me, I think the design of the map was done fantastically. As you know, I play it alot, but with every time I play, I find myself discovering new ambush spots or find myself engaging in firefights on new areas of the map.

Sure, other maps with BF2 and the SF pack are done just as good, but there's something about Karkand that really sticks with me.

Karkand is best played the way it is; maybe I'll like to see NooBtoob with a minimum arming distance,so TO AVOID SMART A S S RUNNING AROUND WITH 203 ARMED ALL THE TIME,and a possibility to unlock RPG,that been without warning sound and since the shorter distance that engagements accured, will make life of APC and TNK a little harder and not so overpowered.
Beside those 2 thing,is fantastic the way it is.

Having APCs and Tanks on this map isn't a problem if you have a good team that knows how to take them out.

Trying playing as AT class more often.
