    Conspiracy Theory

Is it just me or is getting a win loss ratio greater than 1 harder than it should be? I'm an okay player (I'm mostly play on foot and have more kills than deaths) and my win loss ratio is 0.72. As far as I can tell there are 3 reasons for this. First whenever you quit a game it counts as a loss; every so often you just have to quit a game for some reason or you drop out. Also when you join a server that is part way through a round chances are you will have to join the losing side. Finally when a team is getting its arse kicked people start leaving and then you can end up getting auto balanced onto a team that is pretty much doomed. Maybe I'm just paranoid.

I would have set up a poll of win loss ratios but I decided that the average skill of players on the Total BF2 forums would be much higher than the average skill of BF2 players in general.

Personally I think that the win/loss ratio is THE lamest thing to concider when playing:) and completely pointless at that

no hard feelings towards you though

      None taken.

When I'm playing all I think about is how I can help the team win (defend, attack, cause chaos) without taking stupid risks. It's only afterward when I was looking at my stats that I noticed how bad my kill win loss ratio is and I didn't think I had been on that many losing teams. Then I thought about why it was so low and after that I started this thread.

I didn’t think much of it, but this is what I’ve got.

You're either damn good or damn lucky. Or you could possibly be one of those people who always trys to swap to/join the team that looks winning but I hope not.

            653 Wins / 377 Loss (1.72)

Never really paid attention to it early on - then realized that I should go for the War College Ribbon, or at least try before my number of losses gets any higher.

Tough pill to swallow knowing that each loss means you have to get 3 wins in order to just nullify it.

SF has been good to me - gone on 8 and 9 streak wins.

Alright I give up. Maybe it's just me or maybe everyone else with a crap win loss ratio isn't stupid enough to post it on the net.

LOL, how old do you think I am?

I don't care if I win or lose; I just like to have a good game. So I guess I’m pretty lucky!

The only time I've switched to not get the loss was when team's were way unfair. I mean 20 -5. Maybe 3 game's total. I'm really trying to stay away from checking/caring about stats. Concentrating more on teamwork.

                    Re: Conspiracy Theory

i think a kill:death ratio is fairly useless *on its own*, but its like anything, when you compare an contrast different metrics you get a better idea of skill.

I think the rating system should have metrics like:

                    Kill ratio:kills/deaths or kills/second
                    Defensiveness:defends/kills or defends/second
                    Offensiveness:captures/deaths or captures/second
                    Deadlyness:(kills/deaths)x(accuracy%) or (kills/second)x(accuracy%)

                    (revives or heal_points or repair_points)/deaths

stuff like that makes it easier to see the actual ability of the player

Then you can compare these to form better statistics like:

                    Aggressiveness: (kills/second) / (kills/deaths)

this shows wether you have high kills per second or high kills per death: wether theyre a fast player or a slow player

                    etc etc
