how the **** can a company be so stupid?? I'm ****ing at the end of my damn rope, every forum I go to is 100% FILLED with people who can't even get the game to install or patch correctly, let alone run with something resembling stability. The patches take 10x longer than any installer I've used in my LIFE. EA is the only damn company I've seen that actually goes BACKWARDS with each title. How the hell can they do this? Sorry about spamming but my game was working perfectly for days and all of a sudden I crash to desktop when I just click on a server in the filter. 50 uninstalls, patches, regedits and every****ingthing else possible to get the damn game to work and now I get patch failed every time. I can understand you. But luckily I have no problems anymore with BF2.
I only have problems with Civilization 4, 50€ for a game, and I did not get the possibility to finish a game, due to crashes, bsod, ...
Even the patch did not change anything ...
So, it is NOT only EA/Dice that does not have quality support :) -

It turned out once I sent EA/DICE $20 in the mail all my problems went away with BF2.
I guess I'll have to do the same with Special Forces.Comment

All games have issues with certain hardware, I got star wars battlefront 2 on release and have only been able to play with sound off due to CTD when playing with sound on.

Take care of your puter and this wouldn't happen. I have a crap dell from '02 and runs flawless. Why? Hmm? The game doesn't even support my gfx card. I have slow RAM (266MHz oops). Blah blah blah.

although i do get annoyed with peoples constant complaining i really do think thjat a law shjould be brought in meaning a games developer has to release a game to a certain standard when it hits the shelves.
A lot of bugs sure are ironed out by the community feedback but certain things are totally unacceptable.
Number 1 is the browser, they knew it didn't work on release and they know it doesnt work now and they just dont care.
Its totally unforgiveable seeing as how easy a browser is too make, i mean why didnt they just let all seeing eye do it for them if there too imcompetant? Even a game like Americas Army which has a tiny budget compared too bf2 has a fully working browser.Comment

Yeah you're a funny guy man. I know how to take care ofmy computer. And what you said is exactly the thing I'm talkin about. Your comp has a gfx card that isnt supported etc but it works fine. But go to support forums and you get guys with these like top secret rigs with 4ghz processors and sli cards with like 3gb ram and the game doesn't even install right. I defrag my comp, scan for viruses and adware/bots, turn off unnecessary and useless tasks and services, update my drivers and all software and the game is just broken. Running a pc game, at times, involves a little more than just defraging and updating hardware/software. The chances of two systems being exactly the same is slim, when you take into account software (other programs besides the game and os) and hardware. There are an infinate number of combinations available. The developers cant possibly prepare for them all. Although wrong in thier assumption that you dont take care of your computer, chances are they are correct that the problem is with your system.
