A stinger is a surface to air missle launched from a mobile or fixed platform. It tracks a enemy air vehicle by its exhaust. ( supposed to do in real life )

An AA vehicle ( Anti-Air ) such a a linebackers is a mobile stinger launch unit with less powerfull missle than its fixed variant. The AA is also equipped with an armor penatrating bullits.

( i am not a native speaker so don't fall over the grama faults )

If you get in a vehicle or stationary emplacement & it gives you a lock tone when a vehicle is near. You are in the right ones!

Its too bad that stingers are almost totally useless unless the enemy plane/chopper is out of flares and 30 yards from you. :)
