my FPS is always at 15 and I simply cannot play Special Forces online. Singleplayer I'm getting upwards of 60.

Does that mean it can only be my internet connection?

I was wondering how do you read the frame rate thing mine looks like 25.4/40.0 what does that mean. When in a lot of action it jumps around like crazy but Im using the ~ renderer to view frame rates. I know that sometimes my frame rate sucks but dont know how to interpret the numbers, Thanks......Red

anything below 30 sucks. that's really all you need to know. mine is 15 in multiplayer. so i'm playing Singleplayer until they patch it. Nice work DICE

Although it's also about how to play mods over a lan without getting booted. But the (only) responce was to make multiple profiles. I haven't looked into how to do that yet. If anyone has a quick tip on how to do that please visit my thread. I'll probalby figure it out today on my own though. I was going to make another account name but that requires registering with gamespy etc and didn't seem like the right way to go.

you have to remember the higher you set the graphics especially textures and antialiasing if your connection is laggy or is lagging at any one point your computer needs to render incredibly complex sequences and keep pace with the game environment susequently frame rates will drop accordingly, they will also rise accordingly, due to such a volitile environment you need to free your pc from constricting texture filtering,v-synching and AA.

it is fine to crank the settings in single player because the gpu is not waiting on code to be delivered from the net,render it then deliver it back to the net.



so in this light set your craphics across the board to medium-without AA .

in your drivers control panel set the vid card to

disable v-synch.
texture filter -bilinear*...never trilinear!! <-----important!
clamp "lod bias"
image settings to-performance

I understand all that, but what I'm so FRUSTRATED with is the fact that I was playing BF2 vanilla PERFECTLY. and since i installed SF, it's been unplayable. what could be the cause of that?

A few nights ago I was playing on Ghost town on a 64 man server. I didn't check my FPS but I'm sure I was getting somewhere in the 2-5 FPS area. It was fantastic........

ok i understand that , however give my advice a shot i cant hurt only help, alternately try to re apply the 1.12 patch if i remember right i had to re-install he patch post SF install to intergrate the browsers?. the only thing i can think of is the shader optimizations so in that spirit the advice i suggested will indeed either speed rendering or provide a better working environment for your pc/cpu/gpu. AA has long been an impediment to online graphics rendering and really should only be used in singleplayer format.
