*bf2 major lag*

hey guys i just reformatted my hd
and bf2 demo worked fine before
but now i installed bf2 the real game

and any server i go into i have like 33 ping
with 22 people and i get im guessing like 0-2 fps'

i really dont understand

my rig:

windows xp pro?
athlon 1500+
x700 pro 256 meg 128 bit
1 gig pc 2700 ram


please help me out thanx

your ram seems a bit old and I know nothing about your processor but I would scan for virus or adware you proably have to many programs running.

yeah since you just reformated your harddrive I would bet that you haven't updated your video card driver. Your specs seem fine enuff to run the game although an athlon 1500 is below the 1.8 ghz minimum BF2 needs.

k i will look into it
any sound suggestions
it is running on software low now
and graphics are on all medium

i have 2 sound cards
one onboard for mic
and one 5.1

yes ill try to update my drivers, even install omega drivers

33 ping is good. Your processor is weak, and you need more ram.

I had the same prob m8, used spy bot an adaware, they helped a little, but i still had 36 processes runnin, i got rid of norton an settled for fire fox, and cleaned my registry manually, now only got 22 processes runnin an put all my graphic settins on low, runs like a dream now

The athlon 1500+ is a 1.3ghz processor?

Min requirements is a 1.7. That being said I cant say for sure why the demo ran with no issues but the game is lagging.

Time for an upgrade I would think.

also my graphics card is running at 4x agp

you guys think, if say i could switch this agp for a pci-e

get a new morbo with pci-e and a new say 2.2 ghz processor??

and maybe anohter 512 stick of ram

gah u guys suck u have so much money lol
i have to work my lil 25 dollars a week network administrating job
i need to find a new job
im a+ certified if any one is interested lol

i am running all medium should i try to run all low

btw it worked on the demo on all high lol
and it works when i run my own server in play in it

im starting to think the ranks are killing me

cuz bf2 demo servers were NOT ranked

hey guys im back
after a long trial im still no where

check this out
i can run hl2 and bf2 single player on ALL HIGH with NO problem
at about 20 very playable fps's

but when i go on the internet with bf2 i HAVE to lower my settings to ALL low
just to get a decent fps to play

can anyone help me with this problem?
