    AoE III

Hey y'all, I'm thinking about getting Age of Empires 3 for Christmas, I don't know if it's really good though (the screens and all look great) so I was wondering what y'all (the people that own/have played it) think about the game, and please note if the game is no fun if you have a crappy computer like mine

it is garbage unless you are 12 years old. If you are a kid below the age of say 16 then get it .....but otherwise you will hate it. I bought the game with my brother and we played each other online and I personally like empire earth 2 better much better. This game is limited to five stages which are all middle ages and just the whole concept of the game is geared for little kids because everything is too easy to figure out and there is just not much depth to the chararters or should I say army guys. Example the cannon/ motars are only able to fire on walls and building and not on troops. Don't get me wrong the game has a lot of complexities but it is just aimed at things I personally could careless about.

...what are you talking about? You don't sound as if you played it to its extent...

The cannons and mortars are MORE than capable of taking out infantry.. sometimes, they can take out MORE than one infantry at a time! Just... sometimes they miss...

The game is very nice, if you can play BF2, then you can play AoE3 just fine. The naval battles are really sweet!
One of the cooler things in the game is dynamic damage to buildings and ships. When a building or ship gets hit by a cannon, part of that building/ship brakes away revealing the insides. For example, a frigate launches cannon fire at a monitor. The cannon balls hit the monitor's mast. Say bye bye to the mast, because it's now being flung into the water :)

I would say it's a really sweet game, and that you should buy it if you like the Aoe series.

p.s. Empire Earth 2 is pretty neat as well :)

It sucks, lost the spark the older games had, while some aspects are fun it just isnt a good game. I dont really know how to say why but it just wasnt fun for me.

Sigh* Well all I've gotten is "it sucks don't get it" "It's a super fun game" "it's no fun at all" and "it's fun you should get it"........So I'm not really sure, I'm 13, but I don't consider myself immature or anything:) (I'm really dang smart, cough*cough*) So I don't know if I'll be getting it or not..... hmmmmm..........
