Wife and I bought copies of SF tonight for BF2.
Installed both our PC's.
Upgraded both with patch.
Start up game.
I create a singleplayer game to start, having her do the connect to IP trick on my computer so we can get a feel for the game before going online. Yeah we like to whoop up on the PC bots together..
Well after the slow *optimizing shaders* start, she gets a message telling her the server she is trying to connect to (MY PC) does not support her version of the game and to please revert back to vanilla BF2 and rejoin.
This is crazy. I am running SF patched, so is she, but it continues to give her this message. So we change roles, she starts a singleplayer game, I try to join to her LAN IP# and same deal. Tells me to run vanilla BF2 and rejoin to play.
Is this a case of EA just screwing it all up.. yet again.. because we never had a problem playing as a team on vanilla BF2 singleplayer games previously.
