noob here again

there are a couple things i was wandering about
1. when i try to go into
documents and settings/bf2/ anything after that when i try to open up a file it wont let me sends me a message saying that it cant read it and that i need to find a file online to open it problem is i cant find that file

2. how do i change stuff when i do open it

you have to open them in notepad, then just type

ok how do i change the settings so i can see the bottum bar on my screen
i.e. startthe clock open files so on and so forth

am i mistaken that if you delete all the cache files the game will run better or is that for some thing else?
