Re: Voip
I actually logged on to totalbf2.com to see if others were having this specific problem too. It seems that it started happening right after the 1.12 patch. I thought my bf2 game or windows xp was corrupted (because the in-game multiplayer browser was working extraordinarily terrible too), so I took on a 6-8 hour project migrating my data and reformatting and reinstalling everything on my pc. It turns out that it was a total waste of time, score another complete let-down for EA.
What happens to me is that the VOIP doesn't work at all in the game. The "VOIP active" icon never shows up in the game. Also, when I do the mic test in the audio config screen, I can hear myself for a split second and then it gets muted. BUT... if I'm speaking right into the mic during the 1 second that it does work, it DOESN"T mute the mic. It makes me think the problem is related to a sensitivity glitch or something.
My hardware is an Abit NF7-S 2.0 board with built in Soundstorm audio. Athlon 3200, 6800GT, 1.5GB RAM, Linksys WMP54G NIC. I'm running the latest drivers from nvidia. Running XP SP2. I installed BF2 1.0, then directly installed the 1.12 patch.
