    Interesting Night of BF2

I was on the Modders Wake Island server last night playing with some great BF2 players. It's one of my favorite servers because of the quality of people there and the active kicking of TK'ers. Anyways, a normal evening of gaming became slightly more interesting as that friggen cold front that devasted the plains states rolled through Dallas. Winds picked up and began gusting up to 40 mph. You could hear the trees and the wind howling outside as I was playing. And during several really close matches, we actually had brown outs. The lights in my house dimmed without going off and I kept praying "please don't loose power right now." Oddly enough, I didn't get dropped once. My dogs were both freaked out by the storm and the oddly dimming lights in my house and were fighting with each other to get the coveted spot under my desk to hide. :)

    Viva la resistance.

I'm in Allen, just north of Dallas. We had the wind all day but didn't lose power until about 0545 this morning as I was getting ready for work. I was able to play a couple of nice BF2 rounds last night.

I do indeed. I think I even commended you. There was some guy with a name like WIIK or something like that. I forget the context. But that might have been you.

I'm over in Little Elm, once motor home capital of the world, now wannabe Frisco clone. :)

I'm at work now so I'll have to check when I get home. I found it because it has low pings for me so it comes up quick on my browser when I go in low ping order.

I hope to God I didn't convince anyone to go out to this server last night because it was HORRIBLE. I don't know if bragging on the server caused the problem. But let's just say I had 5 TK's before I just logged out from frustration.

Here's how my evening began. I started off trying to help our team make a push for the airfield which we had lost. I was a medic and just hanging back throwing med kits and dashing forward to rez anyone who died on the front line. But we were getting HAMMERED with artillery and bombers. It was not going well. So I switched to Spec Ops and took out the artillery. Then, as fate would have it, we took back the airfield and my favorite little toy appeared in the south base. So I jumped in the Chinese van and headed for the airfield.

When I pull into the airfield, I get a request for a ride. I ignore the request, because my plan is to park the van, jump on the roof and take up my favorite sniping and defensive position on the airfield. Well the a-hole starts shooting at my vehicle. Here I am, abandoning the vehicle so he can use it, and he's shooting me. I pause, turn around, and verify that yes, he's on my team and yes, he's shooting at the vehicle. I get out. He's still shooting. I walk over. Boom, the vehicle explodes and now I have no way to get on the roof. AHOLE!! So I killed him and his buddy killed me.

I spawn back as a medic, giving up on my hope for base defense. And what do I see? The same guy and his friend were mad that he didn't get the jet. So he C4's the runway and blows it up. That's when I lost it. I went up behind him and put 5 rounds in the back of his skull. Several others came over and shot at his dead body. But no, I wasn't done yet. I pulled out the shock pads and revived him. Killed him again. Revived. Killed again. Over and over until I'd had enough. I fully expected the server to boot me, but it didn't.

Then I noticed some other guy out by the chopper pad shooting at random people. By this point, I had been killed by arty or something and came back as a sniper. So I sent a message to the Team saying if I see anyone else shooting at another team member, I'm going to kill them. In the span of 5 more minutes, I had 3 more headshots. At that point, I was sick to my stomach at the kind of people on the server so I logged out and turned off the computer. Right now, I have no incentive to play. What's the point?

Was that on the same server you were commending for how great it was?

The Moders folks are friends with our clan, i'll ask them and see if anyone else has reported it to them.

You can never have a "perfect" server because to have a perfect server no a-holes can ever join to TK or anything and servers can't tell if someone is an a-hole... before he joins at least. To me what a good server is, is a server that boots the a-holes the fastest.
