Is SF worth buying

First of all sorry if someone has already posted a thread about this.

I wanted to know if BF2 SF would be worth buying, I was going to buy it but after I read through some of these posts it doesn't seem like that good of a game.

What would you guys rate the game out of 10.

I also wanted to know IF I do get it, do I have to start over again like all my stats, or do they stay the same

To answer you question. No offense intended, but Yes this question has actually been asked here a few times. I know, you don't want to look at the rest of the pages so its cool. I have done it, heck we all have done it (posting things that have been asked)

As far as losing stats goes. No you don't loose your stats, but actually you can gain more stats (meaning more ribbons, awards, etc.) that other BF:2 vanilla players can't.

I rate this game a 9 out of 10. I have played BF:2 since the day it came out several months ago. I didn't think it could get any better. Then this comes along. Its fun as hell. I have not played plain BF:2 in almost a week now. I have put in over 24 hours worth of play on the BF:SF so that should tell you something.

I like the newly found freedom of being able to get on top of places like building, signs. Heck I even grappled hook up into a tree once :)

You will get mixed reviews of the night maps. I am not really that fond of them. The NVG kinda gives me a slight headache. However, what do you expect when you play with NVG on for an hour straight. Most servers will rotate the night and day maps, so its all good.

You will notice that people will form squads more. This is a good thing. If you can get your squad to have 1 medic, 2 assault, 2 Special Forces, 1 Anti-Tank, then your squad will rock and roll.

All in all, I am glad I bought this game. I have absolutely no regrets at all. Still fun as hell!

Unfortunately...yes. It is worth buying, but it's disappointing too. I am a huge fan of BF2. The new maps and new items in the expansion pack give the game some life again but I imagine only about a months worth.

The games core problems with teamkilling, mines, the voting sytem, bunny hopping, etc., all show up here but for now the new maps and vehicles give us a diversion and are fun to mess around with.

However most of the maps have performance problems and there is a lot of jumpyness to the game now.

At best it deserves a 8/10.

My biggest complaint is they did not enable BF2 SF to play the older maps. When you are in BF2 SF and want to play on the older maps the game quits to the desktop them loads the original BF2. No grappling hooks, no ziplines, no Special forces armies to use, you just go back to normal bf2, but with some additional unlocks to use.

Really lazy not to make the old maps playable in SF, would be nice to see the grappling hooks and ziplines on those maps.

All your ranks are the same as BF2. Your points are all combined, no matter what game you play...BF2 or SF.

I personally enjoy the things that SF added. It was more infantry focused. Granted just as with any game or expansion there is some work to be done, I really like some of the features it added.

your right, it was kinda lazy of them to not implement bf2SF.....and bf2 more .......closely. I mean, a modder here could probally do it, in less then a week, for all maps, if he or she chose to. So the actual developer, well im sure it wouldnt have taken long. Really.

indeed, my opinion also, I don't regret buying it, but it shure is realy frustrating to again get a game with several major bugs in it.

Suddenly framerate drops like hell (5FPS or something) , you have to restart the game.

then the graple hook and zip line are very cool features, but not bug free, the dam hook can place itself so when you come up you fall af building, when you shoot the zip line the attachement of the zipline pushed you away and sometimes pushes you of the building this in combination wityh a crapy parashute and you are dead.

also, like in BF2 but actualy a bit more even, expect te get NOOBTUBED A LOT

Another cool feature thats in BF:SF. You can set up a nice fall for the enemy. Just leave, or shoot a zipline across a building. When the enemy uses it, you can pull it out from under them and watch them fall to their death LOL! Most of the people falling are kinda in shock for second wondering why they just fell, and they don't have enough time to pull their parachute. Seen this done, and personally had it done to me, its a little embarrassing.

I wondered if this was possible, can you pick up your zipline/grappling hook after you use it again so that you can use it later? If so, how do you pick it up?

you wouldn't be here if it wasn't. If everybody here said it sucked you'd till buy it. If it sucked, they, and you wouldn't be here - because this website wouldn't be here. Am I making any sense? There are no websites devoted to things that suck.
