I cannot seem to find any AGP graphics cards online that ship to the UK..i am looking for the 6800GT 256..anyone know where i can get one from?

I bought mine new from Ebay, an Albatron 6800GT 256 AGP... £215 inc DHL courier post from Hong Kong (Sold my 6600GT 128 for £80. :) ). Well worth the money. Overclocked to 6800 Ultra speeds and twice the performance in BF2 of my old 6600GT 128. 3DMark05 score is approx' 5800+.

my friend has the PCI-E and apparently theres almost no difference

try www.scan.co.uk or www.aria.co.uk, both have good prices and are very reliable have spent lots with both and had no major problems, scan gets better stocks than aria for the top range cards.

No probs.. It's extremely difficult to buy an AGP 256mb 6800GT or Ultra via conventional online UK retailers. Ebay has the best selection, however I just noticed my favourite retailer, www.ebuyer.co.uk has 5 PNY AGP 6800GT 256s in stock.. grab one while you can..

Unfortunately these cards are not a great deal cheaper than 7800GT PCIE cards, but if you have a satisfactory AGP system, and don't want to upgrade to PCIE then you have to settle for the 6800GT+ or ATI (for instance ATI X800XL, X800Pro or X850XT) equivalent if you want a decent AGP gaming system.

theres no difference because you're comparing equivilant cards, just on different platforms. No game takes advantage of pci-e but they have double the bandwith capabilities and in a year or more AGP is going to be eating dirt.

x850XTPE or 6800Ultra 512mb(I think they made an AGP 512mb version)
