Horrible server: [DR2nd] Hometown Advantage

This isn't a unique story - just another case of a clan running an OFFICIAL, RANKED server and operating it like a bunch of douchebags.

Server is called [DR2nd] Hometown Advantage and the IP is 70.86.27.253. I recommend you never play there.

They banned one guy because he called one of their clan members a "moron", and then they banned me because I said, "Are you seriously banning someone for calling you a moron?"

They said, "Read the rules."

I replied, "I read the rules, there's nothing in there about it."

Then I got kicked/banned. Of course, me beating one of them in a 1v1 knife fight, and going 7-1 (in about 5 minutes) on their dumb asses probably didn't help my chances.

I don't mind so much - there are many other ranked servers out there. But this just goes to the point that ranked servers ought to have to abide by a certain set of uniform rules and regulations. I don't believe that it's right for a server to be ranked and official, and then the owners create a whole subset of rules that allow them to remove any player they please. How is that even remotely logical? EA and DICE need to do more to police that sort of nonsense.

I am sure that DR2nd use the defense of "we don't like bad attitudes or immature players, weeding out kiddies, blah blah" - but that line is old news and a bunch of bullsh1t. It's, more often than not, an excuse for "more mature" players to kick anyone who violates their virgin ears (with "moron"), questions their fake authority, or just downright rocks their faces off in combat.

I have never been kicked for kicking ass.. which i manage to do sometimes, or telling people off.. but i suppose one day..

It's their server. They pay for it. If you don't like they way they run it, don't play on it. Better yet get your own server.

i played there the other day it seemed ok but they had no clan members on.

It's an OFFICIAL SERVER. That means it should be regulated consistently with other official servers. The admins should not have license to make idiotic, subjective choices that have a direct impact on people's ranking.

And since some of you will say, "But Variable, being banned doesn't affect rank," I'll just say this: When you're having a great round, pinging well, and in the groove, the last thing you want is to have your great game and badass score truncated by a jealous/vengeful/lobotomized admin.

That's like an athlete having an MVP-level performance during a football game, and then the home team telling him he can't play anymore because they own the stadium.

If you can't understand, it probably hasn't happened to you - but once it does, you'll get it.

It's ranked. It reports stats of the rounds played on it to EA. The administration there is UNFAIR, which is shouldn't occur on ranked servers. If it were unranked, it'd be a different story, but ranked servers are by no means supposed to provide any sort of unfairness.

Word! These morons should have the ranked status removed and their stats reset. I played SF on a ranked server yesterday and the teams was like 25 to 10. Shouldn't ranked servers have teambalance on? Anyway I told the other side exactly what I felt about their bravery.

Uhm i kick players for that to ..altho i firstly warn them to watch their language if they after that keep on doing it just to **** me off they get it .

I dont have problems when i get slagged off for doing something stupid ( ofc notto bad swearing) but if i dont say anything everytime im afraid it will run out of hand so there .

Sometimes examples have to be made cuz believe me it WILL run out of hand eventually .
That said i always askem to keep itclean ( yes i also do it :p ) and 90 % of the time theres np .

It's not like their server rules violate any EA rules and, as was said above, it's their server. If people want to play in an environment where players aren't insulting each other, it's their right.

Don't like it, there's a couple thousand more for you to play on.

actaully i remmeber starting a thread bout these guy awhile back. i will never go into another one of there servers again. give any moron power and they will abuse it

I hate nerds on a power trip. I agree with variable that there should be some uniform set of regulations for servers that wish to be OFFICIAL servers.
