Both have a role in my playing style. I like the DAO just as much at the jackhammer but I play engineer a lot-- well not as much as the medic lately but a lot... It was my first unlock.
If I'm expecting a lot of enemy combatants, I choose the DAO over the Jack due to the long reload time and small clip.

I love it when yo run up behind a freshly filled HUMVEE full of guys and unload into the back with the jackhammer. MMMmmm, yummy gooness.

Poor choice of words on my part. Should have titled it "Jackhammer weak/useless....?"

Im not a big fan of the jackhamer, it sure does lots of damage, but not enough rounds per clip and slooooow reload time make it inneffective for every day play IMHO...... now the DAO-12 on the other hand, now thats a real squad killer, especially if you keep the shells topped up after every engagment.

The first time i rounded a corner straight into an enemy squad i fell in love with it, well about 2 seconds afterwards actually when all six were slumped on the floor and i was happily loading shells back into my smoking DAO-12

This is not to take away from your kills with the jackhammer LaserCobra, congrats on the carnage :)

No sweat my man. I agree. It takes so long to reload that I can get owned sometimes. But it has helped me with my pistol switch skills. Personally I think the DOA only tops the Jack due to number of rounds. People would be more inclined to use the JackHammer if it too was a 12 round weapon.

i've done the same thing in the game that i got the expert engineer combat, but it was with a pump action shotgun, i have unlocked the jackhammer but i can kill alot more with the pump action than with the jackhammer.

for me the jackhammer is just too weak, i would prefer the pump action ones anytime.

I wasn't good with the pump at the time and like I said, the Jack Hammer was my first unlock because I played engineer so much. I don't regret it either. I've been torn down by the pump more then once...:p

its a thing that is different from person to person, the jackhamer was also my first unlock but i couldn't kill anyone with it, and strange that the same thing happened in bf1942 when they added the automatic rifles to the pacific maps, once again i could not kill anyone with them but i could kill anything with the bolt action rifles maybe its just my style of playing that doesnt let me play with automatic weapons :P
