Hmm, that's truly a nightmare...

Did you try the things I mentioned, like turning fast writes off?

Is your graphics aperture set at 256 in the bios?

Try rolling back one driver set, for your video card.

I can't see any mention of fast writes in the bios. Isn't than an AGP thing?

It seems that the crash after altering video settings was just a coincidence. If I leave the game in any menu for about 10 seconds it's freezes. High pitched squeal and all.

Oh yes, you're right, that is an agp thing.

But rolling back your drivers is the only option now, if it runs, then you know it's software related.

But for some nagging feeling, I feel it's the memory that's causing you these problems, try upping the voltage on your memory, not too much tho. If that doesnt work, maybe get them exchanged, and see if that helps.

Then again, as we discussed earlier, this could be the nature of the beast, in which BF2 is just going ape **** for no good reason, because all your other games are running perfectly.

Which patch of BF2 are you running? Does it run on say 1.03 and not 1.12? See if that changes anything.

I know this is a pain in the ass to sort out.

If after all this, nothing works, try running the game with only one stick of memory. And try each one independantly while running the actual game, not memtest, or any other benchmarking program, strictly the game.

Yet again, the theory that computers are stupid has been proven true. Sooner or later this will become law.

Glad to hear it's working. It would be a shame if that hardware sat idle. Good work.
