      1) The night maps are the best.
      2) Why would you take off night vision to kill enemies?

I leave the nightvision on all the time (except for the indoor areas or bright areas). On my first game of Devil's Perch, I took out 4 guys at the same time with my G3. That was sheer luck, and they obvioulsy didn't have night vision on.

Night vision in this game is great, and instantly acceable, not sure why people have a problem with it. The gas mask on the other hand, that is really hard to see through

Someone above mentioned the ground. i agree, the ground is often too dark, and I keep falling off the cliff behind the wall in Devil's Perch.

They should remove the static from the NV, the light bleeding is fine, but the static is just too much. I only flick NV on to see if theres anyone i missed...

The night vision in the game is nerfed and buffed a little over RL... The game has been designed with a big contrast between light and dark areas and this is maintained in the NV. In dark areas the NV helps you see and fight but it is a liabilty in the lighted areas or even approaching a lighted area because of the excessive glow from all surfaces.

The fact is with a RL NV system you could be in a dark room and they could switch the lights on and you probably would not notice straight away or at least the auto contrast and brightness controls would prevent you from being blinded. Of course this is not that great a feature for a game because there would never be a reason to take the NV goggles off (unless to use the gas mask)...

Well, what do you expect, perfect 180 vision? Have you seen the rig for the nightvision? I think it makes sense there is a blind spot around the view.

Explain in more detail, iam not following.

I am pretty sure he means that if your mouse has a scroll wheel in the center you can bind the clicking of the scroll wheel to the NODs key. I am unsure of all Mice have this but, for example: Mine "Explorer 3.0" I can click the scroll wheel (Not roll it up or down - just click it) I thin it is button 3 on my config. You can bind this to the nods and then not have to reach across the keyboard for the 7 key.

The night vision is starting to give me a head ache. I guess not playing any games with it before is starting to hurt me.

if they removed the static i would love it so much more...
the main problem with the NV is that often it makes things better at close range, but worse at far. I say this because if you have NV off you can often pick out silhouettes of people at long range as black against a not quite black sky.
On a side note, i'm having a ball on the night maps - the amount of people that don't use their sound (cant hear you? music playing? not loud enough) that you can just run up to and stab...I can always hear people walking nearby, very funny when you're sniping and you hear someone walk up behind you so you turn around and stab THEM
