The insurgents have the best outfits. Civilian clothes ftw. I like the rebel voice commands best, and their victory song is top class. The Russian voice commands can be very funneh too. 'Attackoooo!!!' The new weapons are pretty neat, but I still prefer my rusty AK-101. It is still the best overall weapon of the bunch imo.

I think the Spetsnaz looks the roughest. armour, a helmet and a balaklava. sas and seals you can see their faces it humanizes them. thats why I love seeing Spetsnaz fight the civilian looking rebels, I wish they could fight insurgents too. and it can still strike fear with the old weapons, that DOA-12 is a hall way cleaner. MEC SF same thing but they don't get visible armour. on night maps though SAS and SEALS you can't see the eyes, and thats the most human thing on a person. however Spetsnaz and MEC SF you can't see anything human just a black oval for a head, especially in night vision mode.

Oh and if you think the fanatical islamis movement dosen't have irregular soldiers, whats hezbula? heck the insurgents in iraq are doing what special forces would be doing, blowing up resources. small units unleashing deadly attacks that blend in with the populace, that LITERALLY what the US and british Delta, SOG, and SAS were doing in afghanistan. the only difference is they tend to go after civilian targets, where with SF it's colateral damage. Kamikaze = suicide bombing atleast against military people and assests. Sure SAS and Delta have alot more going for them, but the nature of their operations are similar to islamic fundamentalists. infiltrate enemy territory and blend in with the populace before either sabotaging something, or killing lots of people, and BOTH stir up the local populace, both pay off local warlords/mob, one hires mercanaires, while the US has private security firms.

I really enjoy SAS and Spetnez! This poll isn’t fair because you can only pick one.

SAS, because I'm biased as I'm a Brit, because I get to laugh at the weird voiced and the things they say, and I get a bucketload of new things to shoot.

I get a kick outta the PLA voices (even though i never play PLA much). My parents immigrated over here from china. FIrst language (until like 3 when i had to go to preschool) was Chinese. Now, i just know basic chinese, i still get a kick from their wierd accents.

So, seems like the Special Air Service and the SEa-Air-Land guys got the most goin' for them. Not surprising, they've got the new weapons.

Sorry to be a non-conformist, but I've got to go with the Spetsnaz on this one. Reason: I'm a Slavophile. Pure and simple.

Spetsnez all the way. Love the outfits and I will always love the default MEC weapons compared to any other gun, even the "awesome" FN2000 ^^

                              of course it isnt realistic.

pitting "mec special forces" and "insurgents" as being on an equal footing as navy SEALS?

youd have to be as insane as ownthink to think that that is even remotely realistic.

thats part of why i think BF2 will never be as fondly remembered as BF1942, which is actually realistic as games go.

the forces of scumbekistan wont be taking on SAS and navy SEALS 1 for 1 anytime soon, you dont need to worry about that.

spetsnaz look coolest and get to take out chechyans with BMPs.

seals and SAS also look cool and get to own rag heads though, i guess thats an advantage.

frankly, the weapons are fine for spetsnaz. its just that the MEC in the original BF2 should have had just crap weapons such as ak-47s and PP-19s, then spetsnaz could be the only ones with ak 101s and the like like they are in real life.

FN SCAR and G36s are sweet, and they own the ak 101, which is just a ak 47 with slightly reduced power and slightly increased accuracy.

and being an "irregular terrorist faction" such as the hezbola puts you nowhere near the level of quality of an SAS or SEAL member.

if you were one and thought you could take them, you would pay for it with your life. insurgents only have victory through cowardice and underhanded methods, using civilians as shields, mosques as bases and complaining when either are destroyed.

and the insurgents look hilarious, like that worm jim guy from the N64 games. if you fry one with a shotgun, do their turbans have realistic flying physics? they should.

Well...yeah. That's true. It isn't very "realistic" that the Rebels or the Insurgents would be on a equal footing with nation-sponsored special forces units, but then there wouldn't be much point in putting them in at all. I mean, who wants to play a side that's completely broken (in the bad sense of the term)?

While it certainly doesn't portray real life, it does make for a fun and balanced game.
