  • ATI owners, try the Omega 5.10a drivers

    http://omegadrivers.net/ati/win2k_xp.php

fixed my FPS problems. inside the palace at Warlord, i'd usually get in the low 20s (using the official 5.11 drivers). now, i'm getting over 40 FPS CONSISTENTLY! just played two rounds of Warlord and my FPS +++NEVER+++ dropped below 35!

after that, i joined a server running Iron Gator and my FPS stayed in the 40 to low 50s range!

also, i tried the renderer.allowAllRefreshRates 1 edit so make sure you change yours, too! oh, and don't forget to use driver cleaner!!!

    good luck!

EDIT: it seems there's a new ATI driver - 5.11b which was released yesterday (11/25). check it out -> http://www.3dacc.net/page.php?id=2196

    ATI Catalyst 5.11b
    Size: 84.9Mb
    Hits: 3164
    Author: ATI
    Description: Unofficial
    Operation System: Windows XP/2000/MCE/x64

    ATI Catalyst 5.11
    Size: 96Mb
    Hits: 3571
    Author: ATI
Description: WHQL Certified - OEM Version
    Operation System: Windows XP/2000/MCE/x64

EDIT2: this driver here (released today) combines 5.11 and 5.11b -> http://www.3dacc.net/page.php?id=2197 and a nice discussion about these drivers here -> http://www.tweaksrus.com/forums/inde...showtopic=3178

i'm gonna give this a try right now. based on the reviews, it seems BETTER than the omega drivers!

Re: ATI owners, try the Omega 5.10a drivers

Just to put an additional word out for Omega drivers. I have not used them recently but in the past they have helped me out tremendously while waiting for updated official drivers.
I cannot vouch for this particular set but if I had a choice between crappy performance and waiting for new official drivers my choice would be Omega hands down.

Re: ATI owners, try the Omega 5.10a drivers

Omega is the same driver as ati

Just added in tweaks.. like ati tray tools and monitor tweaks etc which you can download all of them on the web

Dont see why they would really do anything

Guy who makes the drivers adds in some tweaks.. which is proabably why people sometimes see a difference

well you still should do that

the omega uninstaller is just like cat uninstaller

If you like modded drivers go here: http://www.3dacc.net/

Plus try the Warcats 5.11 XT video drivers.

Re: ATI owners, try the Omega 5.10a drivers

None of this works for me. I'm getting tired of non working workarounds.

What I've tried so far :

                    - Cat 5.11 and Omega 5.10a
                    - Cleaning cache
                    - The videodefault.con thing

Still getting 20fps less then BF2.

Re: ATI owners, try the Omega 5.10a drivers

Omega seems to work good with 9800 Pro rather than the DNA's.

Re: ATI owners, try the Omega 5.10a drivers

Those 5.11 XT mixed one makes me crash to the desktop when I try to launch the game on first start.
