Battlefield 2 or Battlefield 2: Special Forces Don't work after 1.12 Patch

My Battlefield 2 always worked before. I downloaded Battlefield 2: Special Forces and patch 1.12 the first day I got it. Worked fine and everything. But a couple days after I tryed to play it but it doesn't work. (****ed off, already had problems with EA downloader) I tryed uninstalling and reinstalling both games and patches. I also tried the manual uninstall .
Games runs perfectly on the previous patches. All that comes up is this:http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/6841/bf26kv.jpg
Then goes back to desktop. I open task manager and BF2.exe is running. But I can't see it.

Any ideas?

I feel your pain yet not much help is here at some points, then at others it's there, I dont know the answer either yet I hope to get a solution soon, Some patches don't work for me either.

i had a similar problem as your self after installing sf and patching would play intro movie then crash to desktop.
i sorted this by do a total unistall of both removing all reg entries did a defrag and scan disk thencheck all my drivers to see if they were upto date installed bf2 (with no patches) then installed SF then applied the latest patch have had no problems since,
hope this helps m8 as i know how furstrating it is

I know you reinstalled, but if you didn't do it in this order: BF2 then SF then 1.12 and you're done .

i figureed it out. I had to delete the cache folder.

Where do you find the cache folder and do you have to delete it before you install or after?
