Smooth Single Player, Laggy/Stuttery Multi Player ?

Hi, when i play Battlefield 2 on Single Player, the game runs very smoothly with very very minimal stutter and is overall a smooth experiance. However when i go online, it all goes to pot. Crappy frame rates, tons of stuttering, trying to turn around can be a big problem and its a mighty pain in the ass :|: And considering my PC should be able to handle it, it gets on my nerves My specs are :

AMD Sempron 3000+ (2.0Ghz)
GeForce 6600GT 128Mb
1 Gig DDR Ram
6.1 PCI Sound Card
Windows XP SP2
Latest drivers all round.

The in-game settings are the ones the game selected for me (Medium). If you can help, thanks.

theres a thread on the special forces section titled......Post patch crappy performance fix......give it a read ..might help....
