disable "empty vechile showing up on HUD"

ok i've barely asked for help, so dont flame me if it's been a well known and widely discussed topic.

i think i've seen the answer somewhere on this forum but apparently im unable to find it via search.

so is there a way to prevent empty vechiles from showing up on the HUD of jets when someone has just bailed out?

You don't want the empty vehicle to show up for the pilot?
Or you don't want the empty jet to show up for you?

Another question I have is, why??

If whatever question your asking refers to other players the answer is 'No way to disable it for other players'. If it is applied to you only, I don't know and I have no clue.

as i said, when you are in bombing mode in a jet, it shows you the vechiles of which someone just jumped out as enemy vechiles. how do u turn it off?

i think it's a setting option in a con file. but i cant find it.

it's a bug? i thought DICE did this on purpose to make it more realistic... i dont know if the bomber is heat seeking?

yea that sux dude. sometimes even if u pay attention to the mini map, u still would think there's an enemy tank beside one of ur teammates while actually that guy is repairing his tank.

always thought it was heat seeking, because a jeep or something just used is still warm, but then again it does it on a bearly used groun AA, which im sure causes some heat from fired missles

I understood the orginal question i just hadn't seen the topic.

I know of no way to turn it off, i think to do this you would have to turn the whole HUD off, therefore editing the game code which would be an exploit even though it is at a disadvantage to yourself.

The only way to do it is to hope you see the square with a cross before they get out of the vehicle or in some cases you just have to take a judgement call, it's most anoying with boats and little cars as they will blow up so easily killing the person next to them.

The empty vehicles on the HUD are PROGRAMMED into the targeting systems. (yep, that's right, EA/Dice have put that there on purpose, making nice TK magnets). The way it works, there's an option for these targetting objects to disable when they're empty. However, there's also a delay from the time someone gets out to the time the target object disappears from all HUDs, which seems to be 5 seconds across the board, no matter if it's a heat or laser object. This could EASILY be fixed by a patch making that delay to 0, thus friendly objects suddenly becoming enemy objects wouldn't be a problem, but sadly they haven't done that yet.

Try zoom in the map (default n). That way, you see empty vehicles on the minimap.

lol glad most of u guys could understand my original post, i was just thinking if it was one of the examples that i suck at writing... =p

anyways, thanks for the replies. so i guess that "solution" to this problem which i've seen before could be a joke or something, cuz honestly i dont remember the details in that thread.
