anybody have any clue as to what the new ranks are, or even what the patches look like?

What new ranks?
There are new factions, medals, vehicles, maps, weapons, ribbons and badges, but I haven't heard anything about new ranks. -

The image files for the ranks exist, as saladfork showed us. However, EA has not implemented them yet. Maybe in a future patch. They have to give blazin something to work for!Comment

there's "inviciable" ranks, look at the list
you get 1 unlock extra when you get ex 5000 points in regualr BF2 then u can unlock the extra in SF.
check the list
