Yippee I've found some players that also like the Exp Pack!
Based on some of the entries on these forums, i thought i was on my own.

Havn't played all the maps yet, but so far so good. Keep it up EA.

I have to admit that I was dead set on boycotting this expansion, primarily because I viewed it as a greedy underhand move by EA.. Especially the thing about SF players being able to use the SF weapons in vanilla BF2..

But yesterday when I was out shopping I came across a copy of the BF2:SF expansion at my local puter-store..

I couldn't help myself so I buckled and went and bought it despite my dislike of EA's marketing tactics..

And I must say that I can't stay mad at EA because the expansion is alot better than what I had imagined.

Its well thought out, intense and well worth the 30€ i paid for it so I'll have to eat my words and say that EA have done it again in the good way for once

I love it too. Last night i got the best teamwork ever in my squad! we were 1 medic, 1 assault (me), one support and 3 spec ops, whenever someone got low on health our medic healed him and so on. We used eachothers hook and ziplines , it was really fun!

SF is definetly good bang for your buck/€. I didn't really have my hopes very high on DICE Canada's map design after Vieatnam but so far, all of these maps have kicked ass (can't really say the same for vanilla BF2). Irong Gator felt like a giant maze at first but after a while it felt pretty good too. Grapling hook & Zipline are great too. Especially the hook with AT unit when sneaking up on enemy tanks. I haven't really missed the old favourites (Karkand, Sharqi) after the urban combat of SF :)

Yep, awesome expansion. I'm going to have to say that my favorite map is "Mass Destruction".

spam and goof offs riding around on the 4 wheelers.. The night time
maps are horrible to play and so unbalanced in favor of one side that
its pathetic.

You guys must be on crack or work for EA. Worst 'add-on' ever.

I really like it too. A refreshing change from the spammage of vanilla.

No jets to hound you with their unfair lock range.

Less helicopters that just sit there and spam you (i did that today, got boring so i crashed and killed my co pilot just for kicks).

Plus when you get a good squad/team together, the game just *feels* more intelligent i think. Less dicks running around noobtoobing everything that moves or shines, and less rudimentary chokepoints, thus allowing more tactical and surgical attacks on flag positions.

A worthy add-on, if only for the points listed above, and twice as much for the ones ive missed.

BTW noobzilla, why are you posting in a "i love SF" thread.. shouldn't you be posting in the "incessant and pointless bitching about a game i dont have a clue about" threads, like you always do?

If I wouldnt have read this, I would have thought I was the only person that thought that these people must be working for EA, if the last step for EA to sell games consists of spamming game forums & communities, then would even visiting this.

Do you even have the expansion? i doubt it with such a negative attitude

I too overall really like this expansion, i have to admit i am not that keen on nightime maps yet as i find the NV quite confusing, but i have very few hours as of yet so will probably get used to it.

Despite that i like everything else, grapples and ziplines are good fun, and there is a lot of fun to be had being more tactical with more buildings and approches to the flags. Buggys and zetskis take a bit of getting used to driving at full speed as they are very twitchy, but thats not a bad thing.

Its without a doubt worth $30, its going to cost that to drive to the shops to get it soon! :laugh:

Too bad EA dictates what they do. DICE is a relatively small company, while EA is a huge money hungry bastard who tells them to finish it "on time" (ie rush the freaking thing) or else they won't get any cash/deal. DICE, wanting to keep their deal with EA, rush it to fit EA's date, and in turn we have a sub-par product that is seldomly well patched.

They are both to blame.
