How do I become Master Sergeant?

I got First Sergeant today, I have all the basic badges...how do I become Master Sergeant?

OMG. I already past Master Sergeant yet I did not recieve the unlock for it wth???

You get an unlock for Master or First, not both. If you have all the badges required, you get First. If not, Master. It's a fork in the line of ranks.

You got all the combat badges so you made 1st Sargeant rather than Master Sargeant.You get an unlock regardless. Now you need the other silly badges(transport,etc) to make Sargeant Major unless you want Master Gunnery Sargeant.

Oh I get it....dam I was hoping I would have all the unlocks once I get to First Sergeant...now only the engie unlocks remain.
