    No SAS (English) accent

hey guys... been playing BF2:SF all day... i have installed the new patch etc...

My brother tells me that the SAS have an English accent! On mine the SAS all sound the same as the original BF2 (American voice over)...

Has anyone got the same problem?

    I look forward to hearing...

Yes, ironically the 'english VO only' option in the audio mode replaces the english voices with americans.

Thats because all Continental US and Canadians seem to think that the UK all talk like stiff upper lipped tossers. The voices for the Brits are a complete joke!!!!!

The peoples voices that they have put in all sound like people who are fresh out of boarding school or straight out of Harry Potter. If they did their homework they would see that the British Special Forces have Scots, Welsh, Irish and English in them. These countries within the UK all have a wide range off accents and even the English counties have sub accents like Scousers (Liverpool) Geordies (Newcastle) Cockneys (London area) Brummies (Birmingham) and many many more. The toffy nosed 'Mary Poppins' English accents account for about 3% of the English population, so its about time game developers stop making us all sound like pompous T*ats in games......

Thanks for the backup m8. It just grips my S**t that game developers just cant grasp the UK's accents. CoD and CoD 2 are the same, full of accents of people that wouldnt know what DPM or an L85A2 was, let alone Special Forces.

I agree - the SAS voices are crap.

So a fix would be a custom voice sounds pack to replace all the SAS vocals.
I can see that the SF game voices are packed into the ..\mods\xpack\Common_client.zip file.

They are .OGG files, which I have not heard of.
I also reckon that if the Common_client.zip was tampered with PB might spot it and reject online server joins. The modified content message would prolly be thrown in for good measure.

So we might be stuck with these for a while.

Really does prove how ignorant americans are, when they voices like this in games.
