Ideas for Making Trenches

What way should i make trenches? I've been trying to use the modify tool, but it doesn't seem to work so well.. anyway, ideas please.

yeah u need to tweak(high & low)the brush levels to make them, and try using the level and smooth tool as well as the mod tool, it is just a matter of finding the right brush stroke, try to pracitise a way from were u wanting to make them or on another map,

The best way to make a trench would be to make a depression with the modify tool and then use the level tool at 100% and about 2 with only lower selected, I think this should work.

Not sure if the platform tools works with lowering, but if it does, use that.
