    Re: Skyline? Starlight? Foxhounds???

Well flares were sometimes used to signal medics, but as far as I know flares aren't in this game, other then the heat flares which come off air planes and choppers, and those don't glow with light they just give off heat.

I am also very very sure Skyline has something to do with ziplines. I doubt these commands have anything specific but someone obviously uses them, and I am pretty sure its the SAS, or Special Forces in general. Theres tons of code people just random make up. I am sure someone will find out exactly what they mean.

Foxhounds maybe ATV's as well. I'v heard the name before used on a trucker cb, when I use to work for the strip mines, and ATVs were all over the place there.

"Starlight!" is what wounded people and medics scream, isn't it? So I assume it's meant to mean medical personell/attention/supplies, something like that.

          Google dug up this :

          Medical-Equipment

          Model SC-071414

This Starlight case is ideal for small arms, night vision goggles, scopes, cameras, lenses, video equipment, timing equipment, medical equipment, used medical equipment dealers and any other devices that require security used medical equipment dealers and protection.

This extract is from a diary of a WWII British officer :

"I can't stay here all night with this lot," he moaned, indicating his bullet-riddled arm.
"It's all right, mate," I hastened to reassure him. "I've already radioed for Starlight jeep. It should be here soon." I had seen him brought in and had radioed immediately for a medical officer. The man nodded his thanks and resigned himself to waiting.

This seems to be better than my crap reply concerning cases. In WWII a 'starlight jeep' was a 'medic jeep'.

                Are you serious? :p
I doubt any kind of RGP platform is guided like the others.

wow ok ptegan seems to have found the closest explanation

and if Foxhounds is a code word for SAS troopers then that's cleared

but just so we're all on the right track...

when you die as USMC or SEAL your guy will call out for a medic by saying "MEDIC!" but the SAS seem to say "Skyline!" ...that's what it sounds like to me. The SAS also say "MEDIC!" if you press left-click just like the Americans do but its when you very first get critically wounded that the SAS seem to say skyline and not medic, it might just be starlight as well but it sounds a whole lot like he's saying skyline.

and whenever a SAS medic throws a medikit he says "starlights, here!"

then there's the british commander who says "incoming Foxhounds at your location/position" or something similar to that, I can't remember exactly right now.

I know what these words mean now but I was just wondering if someone had a real life explanation as to why those words are used or if they are just made up.

Foxhound means more soldiers, Skylight means medic, and I don't know wht the other means yet.

foxhounds.....well through history and definition i would guess how it came up::::

In england, rich people used to take their hounds out(foxhounds) to hunt for the foxes......well when the commander says it then it means that ur the fox and the enemy is the foxhound.......i think it makes sense to some degree

When you're SAS, do the 'need backup' call. He asks for 'more foxhounds'.
