Massive stutter piloting attack choppers in SF

Anybody else getting stutter ONLY when PILOTING the Apache or Hind in SF maps online?

The game is as smooth as glass otherwise...but as SOON as I switch into the pilot seat, I get massive stutter. The FPS is still great. But the game STUTTERS. If I switch to the co-pilot seat..all is well.

AMD64 3000+
2 GB PC2700
6800 GT
81.94

Tried re-installing BF2, defragmenting both HDDs, updating PunkBuster, updated graphics drivers to 81.95 and back again...no change.

The only thing that seems to help is to play just after a reboot.

Well, I just played a round of Iron Gator on a full server and piloted the Hind (which we stole) for the entire round (gold medal and no deaths ) and had no problems whatsoever.

So far, I have experienced this problem on Leviathan and Mass Destruction only.

I'll post if I have good or bad results playing other SF maps.
