Modifed content, EA installer modified it?

I have just purchased & downloaded special forces via the EA downloader & installed the game, but when i got to connect a server i always get kicked as it says i have modified content, the only modified cotent is the BF2 special forces that the installer installed!

Im gettin deja vou of all the problems i had when BF2 was first released. God Bless EA they truly are muppets.

    Update (5 mins later)

It now crashes to desktop when im connecting to servers

EA truly muppets among the gaming industry, you take are money & give us games that are as dodgy as you ethics.
If it was us selling you dodgy games you would have a crack legal team so far up are asses so quick we'd be tasting cherry blossom boot polish for a month.

    Try this. Worked for me:
    Uninstall BF2
    Install BF2
    Install SF
    Install 1.12 Patch

Ok do this broham, uninstall the game completely, except bf2, uninstall ea-downloader and re-download. I am sure its the ea downloader causing this.

Re: Modifed content, EA installer modified it?

I'm getting the modified content error only on BF2 maps, not SF. I didn't use the EA downloader, I have a DVD of the game. Very annoying. I uninstalled everything as the 1.12 patch crashed while patching. I installed BF2, patched to 1.12, installed SF, patched to 1.12. I'm guessing that first patching to 1.12 messed it up, even though it's supposed to work. :p

Should I try uninstalling yet again, and suffering through those bloody awful patching times? (1.12 takes like...20 minutes.)

If you already had the 1.12 patch before you installed SF and now are crashing on map loads then reinstall the 1.12 patch. Try that before you go and unistall everything and start from scratch.

Re: Modifed content, EA installer modified it?

I installed 1.12 after SF (and before it). So I can't install it again now, as it's already installed. SF maps work fine, but BF2 maps kick for modded content.

I guess I'll pull it all down and start again...

I think BF2 & SF have to be the most bug-filled games ever...

Same thing happened to me. What I did is I installed 1.12 patch, then SF mod. To fix I just installed the 1.12 patch again.

Yep. If you had BF2 already installed and patched to 1.12. Then install SF. Just patch again and its all good.

Also, if you've had any mods previously installed, check yoru registry for signs of them even if you've uninstalled. I think that's what fixed it for me.

If all of you do this above and then install the upgrading drivers(Sound and GPU) after it should work fine...some people had to even delete the profiles and then retrieve their accounts, but now they are running flawless.....
