for one the maps with night vision are to light up, and the dark ground is pitch black with the nv goggles on. i hate the night maps.

Please dont say its retarded or in your case "retarted" because it maybe that other people have friend or relatives that are really retarded. Just say it's dumb next time. If your going to use that word, you might as well spell it right and maybe we'll see whos really "retarted":laugh:

Hmmm, there are 'Day' maps aren't there? Logic would be.. ok the server is playing a Night Map. Ok, I will go to a Day Map on a different server. Wow... problem fixed.

If you havn't changed the keys then try pressing 7 or 8 when in the vehicle. It should turn the NVG on or off.
I think it's a tad buggy because it keeps changing the keys on me, when in vehicles sometimes 8 will turn it on or off and all of a sudden it will change to 7, that's even though nothing has changed in the control options.
Make sure weapon 7 and 8 ect is still bound to 7 and 8 in the land vehicles control options.

Alot of people wanted night maps before BF2. They kept asking and asking. EA listened, so they came out with an expansion pack. It's not their fault.

Too bad the BF2 Nights already released night maps.

I think the point the OP was making was no so much that the new night vision is 'retarded' as such but the way they have done it is, mainly with the ground. For eg a NV pic http://www.x20.org/images/deer3.jpg

yeah NV sux. I always bump into crap when im driving cause even WITH NV you cant see anything.

I also cant turn NV on/off while in a vehicle. have to jump out, switch it, then jump back in.
NV in delta force was great. The NV here is like counter strike NV.
Just makes everything green.

Perhaps they will fix it one day or sell us an expansion pack with NV that works.

NV sucks. Most of the time I have it off as its easier to see, apart from when im indoors when I cant see anything.

Its decent but sucks in lit up roads as it just makes it worse. I really dislike the night maps.

LMAO. So I guess you just play Reg. BF2. Cause if you play BF2SF for just the unlocks then you are SOL. Cause you can not get them playing russian, MEC and others. Unless you go back to BF2 Reg.

Every time I go back and try SF, I end up going right back to Vanilla BF2 within an hour. Every time I tell myself "you will just need to get used to it", then an hour later I realize it was just a wate of money and go back to BF2. SF is not an expansion pack, but rather its a whole new game. After all you cannot acess SF through the BF2 browser. I'm not sure who Dice was polling when they came up with the ideas for SF, but it doesn't appear it was a majority of players.

From what I've read, BF2 players wanted more Kar maps (in daylight), not these totally dark maps where you can't see anything
