Night Map problems

I've been able to play SF without any trouble and for some reason i cannot load the night maps on multiplayer. I can play them in sp, but when i try joining a nightmap on mp, it crashes to my desktop after loading half of the map. Anyone know what this is or how i can fix it.

ATI Radeon 9800 128 mb
1024 mb

Someone posted on here that in single player there is no limit to how far you can see if you turn your gamma up etc in night maps. but in multiplayer it kinda blinds your vision with a thick darkness so you are forces to use your NVG's to see farther. update your drivers? Thats all i can think of.
