Game keeps freezing?

Can someone please help me with SF freezing? I installed it last night and I cannot get to the game. When I go to log on to play online, it just keeps freezing. Is anyone else having this problem? I cannot figure it out. It just will not let me get into the game. I bought the store version and had no problems with the install. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes I have BF2 and I have been playing it online since day one. I just bought the expansion pack last night and I cannot get it to work. I was finally able to connect and get into the BFHQ screen. I then go to multiplayer and try to connect to a server and now it kicks me back to the desktop and freezes. I went and downloaded the newest forceware drivers 81.95 and it is not helping. So, I decided to try to play the regular version and when I do a refresh all of the servers are in red and it says that I am using an older version than they are and I cannot connect. I am confused. I will try and go back to my older drivers, but the multiplayer connect is somthing completely different. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you apply patch 1.12?
Not sure if it comes on the SF installer media, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I cleared everything out and then installed
1.BF2
2.1.3
3.SF
4.SF patch
respectively

then it was ok.You tried that?
